Oink Oink...

We didn't post about this earlier because we didn't want to alarm anyone, but Miss Dorothy has had the Swine Flu this past week. Total bummer. She's doing great now. She just has a cough and runny nose left. Dallin and I both haven't caught it from her yet, which is quite a feat considering all the nose wiping and right-in-our-face coughing we've experienced over the week.

Truthfully, it was not as bad as all the hype. There were about two days that were pretty miserable, but otherwise it was just like a bad cold. What I've heard, too, is that the little kids who get it and recover well usually conquer it pretty quickly. Yay! We made it through. The nice thing is that actually having HAD the flu gives you more concrete immunity than getting an immunization, so we're good! I don't have to be quite as paranoid and neurotic anymore this winter.

Yes, there are some things I LOVE about this wonderful community we live in here, with kids and friends everywhere each time we step out our door. There are other things that I don't love... this would be one of them.

Oh man! I'm sorry Dorothy got it. I'm really hoping it passes over us....so far so good. I'm glad it wasn't too bad, I have heard people with the swine flu have it for at least a week.

Oli had it, too several weeks ago. No one else in the family got it, and I'm not the super-careful-wipe-all-the-germs kind of mom. So I'm assuming the rest of us have some sort of immunity. I'm glad it wasn't too bad.
