We just got back from our WONDERFUL trip back to Oregon. Angie's wedding was lovely, and we had so much fun with family. Pictures soon to come. Right now I'm to tired to find the picture cord. Here's why...
We left for Oregon two Sundays ago. We got there in time for dinner, which is a real feat for taking a toddler on a 12 hour drive. The reason for this is that Dorothy decided Sunday morning to wake up at 3:30. We live in a studio, so I tried to get her to go back to sleep for about an hour. If I let her cry it out, it wakes Dallin up. If I let Dallin sleep, he'll drive more and let me nap. I chose the nap, and hence was up with an adorable and very awake one year old until 4:30 AM at which time I decided to wake Dallin up to get on the road.
In the richest of ironies, we drove home yesterday getting in at 3 AM. Guess who decided to be wide awake. The trouble with our apartment is if one of us is awake, usually we all are. So we were all awake. Until 5 AM. We watched The Office episodes we had missed. Quality family time.
I thought it was ironic. We were able to escape a couple of wakeful hours by driving when we left, but then caught them again on our way back.
Needless to say, after our 5 AM bed time, we didn't feel the need to wake up for 8 AM church, so we slept in and went to Bryan and Meredith's church. Dorothy had a great time. There was a little boy her age in the hall who she instantly took a fancy to. I don't think he knew what he was getting into. He was wearing a vest, and Dorothy chased him down until she was able to hold onto the arm holes of his vest. And she hung on. He ran (more like toddler-speed-walked) and she toddler-speed-walked right after him, clutching at his vest for dear life. Finally, she cornered him, grabbed his face, and gave him a BIG SMOOCH! The kid's Dad and I were cracking up. After that the little boy got away, and she didn't catch him again. Dorothy is VL no more. That was some lucky little boy.

I am sure we can blame this on Jeremy's bad influence...somehow.
