Checking In

Bullet points. My brain isn't back to full functioning mode yet.
-I got to the babies' first doctor appointment on time today. Everyone was fed, had on clean clothes and fresh diapers. I think someone should inform NASA and a new national holiday should be introduced.
-I will never be able to go out into public again. This is because I don't like being the center of attention. At all. For example, I loved getting married to Dallin, but I really didn't enjoy my actual wedding (although it was a lovely event). Everyone was looking at me the entire time. Today in the waiting room, I swear the entire place stopped when I walked in with two carseats, and people took turns coming over and oohing and awing at the babies and saying "Wow! You've got your hands full!" Don't get me wrong, I understand. There's something enchanting about TWO babies, but I'd like to just blend, thanks. And, at the expense of sounding truly paranoid, I'd like it if people didn't breath germs on my babies too.
-Dorothy is doing much better, at least today. She colored pictures for the baby sisters and then laid it on their tummies.
-These babies are GOLD I tell you. They've been nursing great, sleeping really well for newborns, and they're not super fussy. And they're really really cute. It's funny, with Dorothy I was so sad and tired and stressed. I think it was so overwhelming to think that this little person was so dependent on me. I was expecting to be so overwhelmed with these babies (and I know that when they're awake more things are going to be shaken up), but I am really really enjoying these sweet snuggly babies and their delicious cheeks. I'm busy, for sure, and more tired/ less coherent than usual. But I'm loving this.

I have to agree, I hate being the center of attention....especially at my wedding. Sorry, you have to go through it but luckily you are the center of attention because you have the 3 cutest girls ever! Glad you are doing well. Thanks for updating, it's so fun to read.

You are such a great little Mommy, Nels. I can only imagine the attention you attract with your three little girls because they are adorable. I hated when people would walk up to me, strangers mind you, and touch my newborn. GROSS! You aren't paranoid at all, it's normal to not want everyone and their dog licking your precious little HEALTHY babies. Haha. I'm glad to hear that things are going well. I am so jealous of you, twins sound like so much fun!! ...Twice the fun :)

I LOVE being the center of attention. Let me cart them around for a while and bask in it. Ha. Glad you're such a super mom, Janelle.

Welcome to the rest of your life as the center of attention, at least until they're 8 or so and not cute anymore. . .although maybe longer if you dress them in matching clothes!!

I'm happy to hear that things are going so well for you! You get a standing ovation for daring to brave the doctor's office (by yourself?) with 3 little girls. But I agree, it is nice to blend in where possible. Good luck with that! :)

Happy Thanksgiving to you all! Say "hey" to Elise for me.
