Cupcakes.

Cupcakes are cool. They're trendy right now in the world of professional bloggers, and why not? They're cute, convenient, and make you feel like a little kid. I found a cool recipe for Oreo cupcakes (Crushed Oreos IN the cupcakes AND the frosting? yes please.), so I decided to try to be trendy and give it a shot.

The creme is the best part. Didn't everybody do this as a little kid?

Cute helper Dorothy.

With the powdered sugar in the mixer, Dorothy decided to take her helper skills to the next level by turning on the mixer all by herself, full blast mind you. This obviously had disastrous results, entirely covering not only the kitchen within a five foot radius, but also her shirt with butterflies on it. Oh dear. She was definitely more upset about her shirt than anything else. Being the nice Mom that I am, I ran for the camera instead of comforting her over her loss.

Another view. She's still not happy.

Despite setbacks, the cupcakes turned out pretty good. Fun was had by all.

I love that picture of Dorothy. The look on her face is beyond words!

I just found your blog. I hope you don't mind :). I've been very entertained; you sure have a knack for putting stories together.

Oli did the same thing when he was 2! I was making a double batch of choco chip cookies, which is too much for my Kitchenaid, and right after I dumped in the dry ingredients, he turned it on full blast. I'm afraid I didn't react with much patience that time. I love that you got a photo of Dorothy caked with the sugar.

Me and Dorothy must be best friends. I did the same thing with my mixer this week--except it was cocoa powder, not powdered sugar.
