Dallin had yesterday off of work, so we celebrated! Gary and Alice-Anne were nice enough to watch Dorothy for us while we went on an adventure in SLC. We got a treat that we've wanted for a long time-- Bikes!!
Dallin inherited my Dad's old one. It looks a little shabby, but back in the day it was top of the line. It's his secret weapon, nobody will steal it because it doesn't look fancy, but it's a really good bike. I got a new, pretty one-- a pearly pink Gary Fisher mountain bike. My uncle Brent has a bike shop in SLC, so he cleaned up Dallin's bike and picked mine out for me (my only specifications- I want a pretty mountain bike. Good job Brent).
Their names are Dirk and Perla. They like each other too.
We brought a picnic dinner of tuna, celery, and tomato sandwiches on homemade bread. Yummy!
We also had our anniversary tradition: Oreos. There's a story behind this. In high school, we always asked each other to formals in cheesy ways using Oreos (cookie-ing cars, hiding messages in them, etc.). When Dallin proposed, he kept with the theme. My ring was in an Oreo. Ever since, we've always had Oreos on our anniversary. All three of them.

We ate our dinner and went on a bike ride around town. Salt Lake is cool! I haven't had much of a chance to really tour it, but there are so many neat little stores and cafes. I had fun seeing parts of town that I hadn't before. We stopped in at a bakery and had Italian sodas.
When we got Dorothy home, she fell in love with my helmet, and cried when we finally made her take it off to go to bed. Safety first.
Shameless plug: The bike shop is fantastic. If anyone of you guys in Utah ever need a repair, new bike, helmet, or whatever, go check this place out. It's a cool, funky ambiance and they take really good care of you. They know their stuff and have an incredible selection.
