Dorothy turns six.

This is Dorothy and Saylor. Saylor moved in to the apartment directly above us this summer, and we are so glad. She and Dorothy are best buds, and they don't even have to put on shoes to play together. It is a rare day when we don't get at least one knock on our door from Saylor (and vice-versa).

Their birthdays are just days apart, so we decided to do a joint birthday party. Now that Dorothy is old enough to care about her parties, it's starting to turn into a bigger deal too, and it is SO FUN. I love this. Also, I'm not spending the party shepherding a bunch of two and three year old guests (ahem, twins b-day), these guys can handle themselves at this age and get excited about things. This rocks.

We frosted sugar cookies.
Friends braved a snow storm to come.

Played "Kiss the Frog". It's like pin the tail on the donkey, but you put on lipstick and kiss him. I think we played this at every one of my birthday parties (and my sisters') growing up. Mom, you're a genius.

Playing "Don't Eat Pete!" (Which Dorothy called "Don't Eat Peep!" for days, it was adorable. I think we played this one at every party in my house growing up too. Again, Mom, you're a genius.

Other festivities: The Lady requested chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast the way Dad makes them (aka with no weird grains or additives like Mom does, ahem.) Done and done.
We got to bring cookies into her class for her friends at school. She specifically requested that her sisters come too, so the whole family came! Good thing Dallin was there, because there was a rug with the alphabet spelled around the perimeter, and the twins spent their time there fighting over who was standing on what letter.  Dallin took them out in the hall, bless him. We drove straight to Seth and Tiffany's from there, and Dorothy got to open her presents in the car. She said it was the best birthday ever.

Oh so fun - love love the pictures - and what a fun walk down memory lane with birthday parties of days gone by! Funny how memories are - only remember kiss the frog a few birthday parties - but Don't eat Pete... That one looks like will never die!

What a fun birthday party for Dorothy and her friend. I loved all the pictures! What a good girl to enjoy the rest of her birthday in the car.
