Norah and Ruby turned one!!!!! We made them cake and let them have at it. I got a video of it but NO. PICTURES. I am so ashamed. I bet you can imagine how it went. Dallin and I celebrated their birthday by going on a date to celebrate being done with year one of twins. It has been quite a year, with some cute squishy results.
Ruby has firmly established herself as the resident mountain goat. Meaning, she climbs on everything. And she's quite resourceful about it too. She'll push one of Dorothy's little chairs over to the place she wants to climb and uses it as a stool. As you'll see in the pictures below, she once tried using Dorothy's toy stroller and got stuck. Being the nice Mom that I am, I took a picture before freeing her. When she's not actively climbing, she likes to climb on top of a chair and sit there surveying her kingdom.
Dorothy turned four! She had a very low key birthday party with friends, and she got to choose every meal of the day and opened birthday presents. Also on the agenda-- she wanted to watch the move "Elf" with Daddy.
Dorothy has also been learning to read, though she is much more interested in writing than reading.
The babies played in snow for the first time! I gave myself big pats on the back for my brilliant super cheapskate idea-- multiple pairs of socks on their feet with grocery bags tied on. Also socks for mittens. Lucky, lucky children.
Peace out! check back here in a bit, we have a bloggy Christmas card in the making.

Oh my goodness, your twins look so much like Dallin! I'm glad you're not dead. : ) I enjoy catching up on your family on your blog since we can't see each other. Merry Christmas to you and your family!
1. Dorothy can not be 4!! Where has the time gone!
2. I loved the picture of the twins in the snow. They both had the look of, "It was bad that you put plastic bags over our feet but worse that you had to document it with a picture" hahaha. loved it
3. We missed you at the wedding! Hope you have a great CHristmas!
Janelle, I've missed you!
Just today I took a picture of the baby BEFORE I rescued him. love it.
I have done the socks and grocery bag approach too...boots are so expensive...especially when they don't move much and they don't last outside in the cold too long(like one of my children.)
Dorothy is so cute! I can't believe she's 4, too!
thanks for giving up Dallin for a few days...it was so fun to see him again. Wish we could have seen all of you!
CONGRATS ON MAKING IT A YEAR!
Love the updates! Cutest baby bum bath picture ever! Congrats on making it through year 1, hope the next is a little easier!
Glad all are alive in your house! I'm glad you got to celebrate on a date. :-)
I think Kevin might be able to take your video and get some pictures from it for you if you'd like. He has a bunch of software that does that since he's in film business. let me know. :-)
